My Hailey Bean

Here's is Hailey's most recent picture! Isn't she adorable?!?

And then these two just make me smile on a cold, dreary day :)

It happened...

Everyone always says weathermen are never right.

Last night - they were.

It happened.

It came.

The S word.

Snow.

And not just little flakes that melt the second they hit the ground. There was actually evidence of it this cold, dark, lovely morning. The good news is that once the sun started rising the snow melted away quickly...as you can see there wasn't much snow left by the time I got to work and decided to take a picture...

Distressing News...

Look at the Thursday and Friday's forecasts.
'Nough said.

Cold Rooms and Warm Beds

Well it has officially happened.

I got out of bed late because I couldn't bear to leave my warm bed for the cold "outside" air of my bedroom awaiting me. This time of year until Spring is always the hardest to pay attention to my alarm and get moving at a decent time. Of course this year is harder - Indiana changed over to Daylight Savings Time, which I have heard good things about from people who live in other states, the only problem is that Indiana is on the Eastern time zone - and it is dark until a crazy time in the morning for it being only October.

Right there are two strikes against me in the quest to be up by 630 in the AM. While I am trying to delude myself into believing that if I just went to bed earlier it wouldn't be so hard to get up in the morning, ultimately I think it comes down to a battle of staying warm curled up in bed, or facing the morning to a rude, dark, cold awakening.

Hmmm...what I would give to be able to just stay in bed...

More Random Thoughts...

- My boss broke her elbow yesterday. She was walking outside and fell. She's going to have to have surgery on Monday morning.

- I have been walking like an old person since Wednesday when I decided to start working out again. My body aches. After my boss and now this, makes me wonder about how healthy exercising really is...

- Know in my head exercise is a wonderful thing - I will continue - doubt my boss will.

- Many intriguing questions floating around inside my head lately...some from Sunday discussions, some from church, some from who knows where...need to sort them out and start exploring answers.

- Now on my second can of Diet Coke today - still tired. I normally drink mainly water, one would think the caffeine would have kicked in today.

- Corey Mann recently published a post about being Single during the high school years. He was definitely fired up and passionate about it - its a must read! By the way, I agree...

- Got talking about India last night - I miss those people. A lot.

- My boss has a crazy stalker guy who comes in the library. We call him Denim. Yesterday he came in, combed his hair back, and headed her way. (What are we in Grease or something??) Then looks at her and says, no lie, "How you doin'?" like Joey in Friends. He even followed her to Martin's. Makes my freaky library patrons not quite so bad. None of mine have followed me - that I know of at least. Something to be said for fake engagement rings or security guards.

- I miss my nephew.

- I miss my family.

- Can't wait to see all my friends play softball tonight - I just love cheering them on!

- ND plays this weekend. So does the Bears. Its gonna be a good weekend.

- I'm not gonna lie, I love guys who wear amazing smelling cologne. BUT there is a point where there can be TOO MUCH of a good thing. Like when he walks away, but you still smell him for a good 5 minutes later. Or if you smell him minutes before you see him.

- Why do some men who are getting older try to look younger by wearing the jeans they wore in the 80s?

My heart hurts...

Last night a church in Mishawaka was struck by lightning...and from what I have heard there is not much left.

My friend is a fireman and got called in last evening to help fight the fire - it didnt sound good. While I am so extremely grateful no one was injured or killed, my heart aches for the people of the church. I can't imagine what it would feel like to stand there and watch your church, a place that becomes like another home, go up in flames.

One of my old friends from college and her family have been members there for as long as I can remember - and my heart hurts for her and for them. I saw her face on the news and I just wanted to be there and let her know I was thinking about her, praying for her and loving her even though we haven't spoken in ages.

Please pray for these people who have suffered a loss that most of us could never fully understand...

Random Thoughts Today

- I was sitting here wishing the sun would come out, then it did! YAY!

- I think a full moon is coming. Strange things are happening with the computers and half the people coming in are mean.

- Mondays should be added onto the weekends. But if they did, then I would probably be not so found of Tuesdays...

- With everyone coming in to use the lab to job search, it makes me appreciate the fact that I have a job - and one that I love most of the time.

- Dark Chocolate M&Ms are the best

- I could really use a Diet Coke from McD's right now - theirs is the best!

- I normally don't go for really tall guys but there is one in the lab right now that is just too darn cute for his own good ---and he's still over a foot taller than me even with my tall shoes on! Wonder if he's single...hmmm...

- I hate shopping for new belts - either they are too small or too big...I need a custom made one...

- My teams won this weekend...go ND and Da Bears!

- Finally bought a ND shirt this weekend

- Just found out tall cutie works with kids...gotta love that!

- While some teens drive me nuts, some of them still seem to capture my heart.

- I hate when computers do unexplainable things - like someone's printer is right now...

- Can't wait to get my eyebrows waxed on Wednesday!

- I am taking two days off this week for Jeanna Time - its gonna be great!

--gotta go fix this broken computer...
